Good quality, delivery could be faster

I ordered a stylo plume japonais and a carnet de notes from IkigaiShop. The quality of both items was really nice, exactly what I hoped for. They feel authentic and well-made. Shipping took about 8 days to get to me in Texas, which was a bit longer than I expected for a US store. Everything was packed securely, though. I'd definitely consider buying from them again for unique items, just maybe not if I need something super fast.

Love my new bento box!

Oh my gosh, I just got my boîte à bento and it's perfect! It looks even better in person than it did online. The quality is fantastic and it's super cute. I've already used it a few times for lunch and gotten so many compliments. Everything from IkigaiShop just feels so special and genuine. I'm already eyeing a théière for my next purchase. Highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for real Japanese items!

Nice little find

Grabbed some washi tape and a daruma from IkigaiShop a bit ago. The tape designs are really cute, and the daruma looks exactly as pictured. Shipping was okay, took about a week. No issues with the order.

I'm looking for some Japanese art supplies, specifically for sumi-e. How do they compare to, say, Junku for brushes and ink?

M Mia E. 1 month ago
IkigaiShop has some nice calligrpahy stuff, but for super specialized sumi-e, Junku might have a wider selection of very traditional brushes. Ikigai is great for general high-quality stationery though.

I've bought ink from both. Ikigai's ink is solid, but if you're really into niche sumi-e tools, Junku often has more of the super specific, hard-to-find items. Depends on what exactly you need.

Do they offer gift wrapping? Thinking of getting a bento box set for a friend's birthday.

E Elena 1 month ago
I haven't seen a dedicated gift wrapping option, but their products come nicely packaged anyway. You might be able to add a note or something.

I think they mention Japanese gift packaging. You might want to check their general FAQs or product pages for details on that specifically.

Does IkigaiShop take PayPal? Or is it just credit cards?

R Rosa D. 1 month ago
Yeah, they do PayPal! That's how I always pay.

They take all the usual suspects, credit cards, PayPal, you're good.

What's the deal with returns if something doesn't work out? Is it a hassle to send stuff back?

A Anna Patel 1 month ago
I returned a kokeshi doll once, it was pretty straightforward. Just contact them and they'll give you instructions. You usually pay for return shipping though.

Returns were fine for me. Got a defective pen once and they were quick to help. Just follow their process.

Is there free shipping if I spend over a certain amount? Trying to hit that threshold.

C Cody 1 month ago
Yup, free shipping for orders over 50 euros. Just make sure your cart total hits that mark before taxes.

It's 50 euros for free shipping, I always try to add a few extra things to hit it, totally worth it.

Hey, thinking of ordering a bunch of stuff for my desk, how long does shipping usually take to, like, California?

G Gwen Nguyen 2 months ago
Mine got to Texas in about 8 business days last time. It ships from France, so it takes a bit.

Yeah, they ship from France. I'd say plan for at least a week to 10 days for the west coast. My last order for some pens took 9 days.

Are their products actually from Japan? Like, for real authentic stuff, or is it just 'Japanese style' made somewhere else?

N Nina K. 4 weeks ago
Totally authentic! They say on their site they import directly. I got some washi tape and it's definitely the real deal.

Yeah, I had the same question but everything I've ordered, especially the stationery, feels super legit. Not cheap knockoffs.

Can I use that newsletter signup discount AND a Black Friday code together? Trying to stack some savings.

D Dana S. 1 month ago
Nah, usually you can only use one code at a time. I tried during the summer sale and it wouldn't let me.

R Raj Patel 1 month ago
Pretty sure most online stores, including this one, don't let you stack codes. It's usually one per order, afaik.
